Welcome to our fishing/outdoor world. Like in the classic movie A Parent Trap, we say to you, "Let's get together." As professional fishing guides, we are comitted to making your fishing trip not only enjoyable, but also productive and memorable. We will work hard to make you fishing dreams become realities. There will be no stress; we value a soaring eagle as much as a tugging walleye. Make no mistake, though, we will catch fish; as we do, however, we will also take in and enjoy the day.

Nik Dimich & his father Rod are your year round, full time, fully insured, professional fishing guides with 70+ years of experience fishing and enjoying the great hard/soft waters northern Minnesota has to offer. They fish Lake Winnibigoshish (ßig Winnie) and connected Big Cut Foot Sioux, Leech, Ball Club, Upper Red, Bowstring, Round, Sand, Pokegama and many more lakes in Itasca and Cass counties.

Rod has grown up and fished the Grand Rapids area for over 50 years and Nik has taken the outdoor knowledge he has learned from his grandpa and father (Rod) to fuel his passion for fishing Minnesota lakes year round. Having a family cabin on Lake Winnie since 1970 Rod and Nik understand the value in a day of fishing, and would like to share their passion for fishing with you. They are committed to making your day on the water (whether open or hard) an enjoyable, productive and memorable one. They hope you join them on the water whichever fishing season you choose. They would be proud to help you make your fishing dreams become realities...

I feel blessed I was raised by a father who not only told me about the outdoors, but also took me there. I have not only hunted deer, ducks, grouse, and fished (open and hard water) for most of our fish species; I have written and spoken about how my experiences go beyond the harvest. In 1980, I was fortunate to be one of the founders of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association and have been a co-editor/columnist for every issue of its magazine Whitetales for the last 32 years. In my column “Daylight in the Swamp,” I have written about hunting and fishing and its importance to our quality of life. When you fish with us we will treat you as family and friends. We will also guarantee a quality experience with respect and ethical behavior being the bedrock of our endeavor. There will be no pressure or stress. We value an eagle floating the airwaves as much as the heavy tug of a fish at the end of the line. Both are from magical places. We want you to see and feel that magic.

I was fortunate to grow up in northern Minnesota 12 miles north of Grand Rapids and within four miles of Bass and Deer Lake, with access to many other lakes just around the corner. Growing up outdoor hobbies were always encouraged and fishing was one of my favorites. My parents made fishing fun when I was a kid. It was also a tradition to go fishing with grandpa as a kid for crappies, blue gills and sunfish from open water into ice fishing seasons. I have been a weekly outdoor columnist and have had over 200 articles published for the Grand Rapids Herald Review sharing my outdoor expperiences through hunting and fishing and the importance of the outdoors. I started going out on the lake at two years of age with my Grandpa and Dad on many of Itasca County’s 1,000 lakes. However, we would spend the majority of our summers fishing sharp bar break-lines and weed beds live-rigging and jigging for walleyes on the legendary waters of Lake Winninigoshish. I’ve enjoyed fishing all of northern Minnesota's open and hard water seasons and would like to share fishing Minnesota with you. I am looking forward to being your Minnesota fishing guide.

As professional fishing guides we are committed to making your Minnesota fishing trip an enjoyable, productive, and memorable one. We understand the value of a day’s fishing northern Minnesota lakes through all four seasons.
